    Default Re-grout?

I grouted half my kitchen floor incorrectly because i didnt leave the grout long enough to dry and used to much water on my sponge when wiping off excess. Having asked questions here i grouted another section of the floor and it has turned out great.
I used grey grout and on my first attempt it came up a light grey colour and was crumbling but the second attempt was a true grey and hardened well.
I want to redo the half of the floor that came up light grey, my question is can i just scrap out a few mm's from the joints and re-grout, or do i have to completely remove all the grout from the joints? thanks
