Default Ceramic with Glass mosaic border

    Chaps,

Looking for a bit of advice on a potential new job.

JOb is tiling round bath on plastered walls ( September plastered) with
15 X 15 ceramic. The client has brought 30x30cm web of glass mosaics and wants this cut in half to make a glass mosaic border.
The mosaic is approx 1mm thinner than the ceramic (so i am told) so this should not be a problem.

I have suggested that the walls will need to be tanked first, i am planning to white star for the ceramics.

Will i need to get a small amount of glass mosaic fix or would White star be ok ?

Also plan to use bal microflex grout, again will this be ok the glass mosaic ?

    Thanks in advance

    Nigel

I would say Whitestar and the grout will both be fine for the mosaics as it's only a thin border

If you are going to tank the walls, I would suggest you forget the White Star. Great adhesive but with a waterproof background it will take a lot longer to dry than normal as it is an air drying (dispersion) adhesive, so your grouting would be delayed.

If it was me, I would get a bag of Moasic Fix and use that throughout. It has long bucket life and will stick your mosaics no problem, and you can grout after 16hrs.

    Thanks Grumpy,

I did think of using mosaic after putting up the thread as i read previously read it can be used for ceramics as well.

    Cheers
    Nigel
