Minimum bed depth ??
Hi Guys ....just about to do a kitchen floor as follows :
18mm WBP ply deck, heavy duty dpc underneath, screwed @ 300 centres with addittional 110mm spit hits through to concrete sub floor = solid !
10mm thick synthetic quartz "stone" tile
Centre area is to be fitted with UFH mats (3-4mm thick)
Problem is, there's not much to room to play with to try and keep the floor height down and avoid a step with the adjoining finshed floors .....so the question is - what would you say is the minimum depth of adhesive bed that I can (safely) get away with ??? ....using porcelflex btw
Cheers

Re: Minimum bed depth ??
As long as the tile has 100% coverage then thats what to aim for....not bed thickness....so the flatter the floor the easier that is to achieve..

Re: Minimum bed depth ??
yeah, I read the data sheet already - doesn't mention anything about a minimum thickness over UFH mats ....I just wondered if there was any recomended standard ....as I was a bit concerned with getting full coverage while trying to maintain the thinnest bed possible ....seems not though
Thanks for the help

Re: Minimum bed depth ??
2 water and 1 sbr but keep your tools clean that stuff sticks like no other, I've used with 10mm trowel over ufh
