First post here so Hi folks!

I've just laid my kitchen floor using grey porcelain floor tiles and used the Unibond grey adhesive/grout for the whole job before I read what everybody thought of it in this forum!

I used the sulphamic acid cleaner to get rid of the excess dried in grout on the tiles (i didn't realise how hard it made it using grout of such a similar colour to the actual tiles!) but unfortunately where it has seeped into the grout lines it has left it discoloured (kind of white and patchy).

Does anyone know of an easy way to touch up the grout lines? I had though of using a grout pen but can only find these in white, black and silver, not grey. If I have to re-grout I can see myself getting into an endless cycle here!

Hi and welcome to the forums. If its efflourescence then try boiled linseed oil and white spirit 50/50 mix painted on the joints with a fine artists brush. Try an unobtrusive place as a test area first before doing the lot. Ensure to clean any off the face of the tile.....Gaz

Go onto AQUA MIX web site they do loads of different grout colourants, which would do the job.

Don't think it is an efflourescence Gaz, as it only happened where the sulphamic acid has reacted with the grout, almost the same as if you were to score or scrape the dried grout with something leaving the exposed surface white (ish).

I'd found the Aqua Mix site just there by chance Enduro, and the natural grey or pewter looks just the ticket (pricey though!)

I think it is more than likely bleaching from the cleaner you used...

Welcome to the Forums!!! You dont need Aqua Mix Grout colourant just use Aqua Mix Enrich and Seal

Aye Enrich n Seal is the baby but Gaz's suggestion will work as well and will be cheaper burnt linseed used to be the way to seal flagstone in fact it is still used quite not the nicest to work with but it still works.

I actually got the idea of En & Seal from a customer who had spilt a little Olive Oil on her grout and said that was how she wanted it to look

Thanks for that! Just used one of your links to purchase it through. I was a bit worried at the strikeingly fast rate that my 'solo' card was approved. Just hope the stuff turns up! My employer for this job is waiting for the pay cheque because of my grouting problem.
PS - I did'nt mention that my problem 'just had to' crop up on a mosaic tile job. Lot's of grout lines for me to deal with then.....

Well I got the list off Aqua Mix so i assume they are all Bona Fida suppliers although i havn't tried them all by any means
