    Default need help.....

been waiting weeks for someone to refit bathroom+tile says hes coming this week........just had phone call to say he now can't make it for two weeks..........my point- ive taken all the tiles off the wall and going to retile myself.the tiles came off very easy fitted all round bath with shower in bath.the walls appear to have been painted under the tiles and a lot came off with the tiles and i'm left with almost perfect plaster board with some paint...........now do i prime these walls with something!!!!!!!!! and would it be ok to tile round my old bath and leave a half tile space all around the bottom for the new bath to be fitted. help please

why dont you put a post on here for thge job m8,as i am sure you will get a good job from one of the tilers on the forum.

When tiling a toilet its not as easy as just leaving half a tile above the bath and starting,as you have other substrates to consider such as top and bottom of window ,top of door and any other levels that come into play.Regarding the paint under the tiles this should be removed by mechanical means (sander)then score the wall and prime with an acrylic primer.

Tanking is not a must but something to be considered.
If the bath has a shower and it gets heavily used by a family then i would say yes. If not then as long as you prime walls and use a good adhesive/grout, then you should have no problem.
