hi, picked up real slate tiles in b and q sale, 99 % of them are sticking quite well, i also got b and q tile adhesive, lil on the cheap side compared to others, but tile adhesive is tile adhesive right??

i got a couple that didn't take to the slate, and once stood on after being left rest, lifted! so i needed to re-apply tile adhesive again, which seems to have fixed the badies!

...just another quick one, what drill head do i use?? i have to drill through a tile, what type of drill head is used??

slate has to be cleaned before fixing..as for b & q adhesive, its not too good........for anything.

Hi damian....did you wipe the back of the tiles before fixing to remove any surface dust etc.......this could be why they didn't stick first time......

As for drilling holes then try these..... Drilling hard porcelain wall tiles with 365 drills diamond holesaws granite cutting marble floors

if i had brains, i'd be dangerous eh guys!

i am actually thinking about it not, the ones that listed, as far as i remember had traces of dust alright, they musn't have been wiped!!

so its a bit like take and poweder and a plaster, just not gona work !! hmmm

nah, to be fair, only 2 came up of a load.. about 50 so far.

its time consuming, move this, tile, wait, then move back, tile, then move.... the kitchen is only so big!

I'm covering the whole floor, it'll all be exposed when finished!

A good adhesive wouldn't do that. I hope they last!

Checkout Drilling hard porcelain wall tiles with 365 drills diamond holesaws granite cutting marble floors. Though for one hole perhaps I'd try a masonry bit not on a hammer setting on the drill and turn the chuck a few times with your hand to score a small hole and then start slow - keep the bit cold with water.
