    Hi guys,

Just wondering which adhesive is best for tiling over existing tiles?
Existing ceramic tiles and grout are all sound, 150 x 150 and being covered in 300 x 250 in brickbond.

Never keen on tiling over tiles, A spf and make sure the tiles you are tiling over are clean and I would rough the surface slightly just to break the glaze

Very true pete..........not all standard flexible cement based adhesives will stick directly to glazed/glossy tiles.......certain primers will work or the use of a highly flexible adhesive...

Hi! Be very careful! The main worry is the combined weight of two lots of tiles.
If tiling onto plaster or plaster skimmed plasterboard you have a weight limit of 20 kg
per m2, 2 lots of tiles & adhesive will easliy exceed this. If tiling onto unskimmed plasterboard you can go up to 32 kg per m2 which is probably OK. In which case use either Ardex P82 primer and any of their Cement based adhesives such as X7 White or S16 White rapid set. The alternative is to use either of the above adhesives and incororate Ardex E90 additive and skip the primer. If the tiling background will take the weight you should check that the existing tiles are securely fixed (no hollow parts) and that the tiles perfectly clean, degrease if necessary.
