Re: tile floors without adhesive and save £ £ £s
the screed is bonded to the sub floor using cement slurry the substrate was dampened down then slurried semi dry mix of sharp sand and cement slurry bonding coat tiles tamped into the screed grout strong mix opc and building sand tiled hundreds of floors like this great way of fixing tiles

far frrom a dying art most apprentices working towards nvq level 3 must learn this as screeding and tiling is part of the level 3 nvq qualification if you want to work in the middle east usa and most of europe you will be expected to be able to do this

In this country it's a dying art. I did an nvq tiling, and was taught to screed and to fix into screed. In 10 years I've only screed a few floors myself.

Re: tile floors without adhesive and save £ £ £s
Do you lay boards over the screed or spiked shoes when you lay the tiles so not to disturb the fresh screed or lay as you proceed
