Re: mapei trade price
do you have to buy in bulk to get it for that price or do you get a special price just for you. also do you need a trade card for them.

No, as long as they see your van and the muck on the jeans, their happy. They do Ardex, Bal, Mapei.
Other Mapei prices; 20kg keraquick in white 14 pounds, gey 11 pounds. Mapei 5kg grouts from 8 pounds. silicone 4 pounds upwards. And their good blokes, especially the Epsom lads.

i have spoken to every branch of bordans and they can only do it for £7+vat a bucket. i have also been there in person and they have checked with area managers and sales reps, and this is the lowest price they can do. does anyone know where i can get it for less than £7+vat a bucket.

Re: mapei trade price
He's desperate to go back to tiling, he's thinking about opening the shop over the long weekend and tiling the other days to get some income, feel really sorry for him really, he was really exited when he set up then the supposed credit crunch hit, and being a new business he was going to struggle anyway.

Not really sure to be honest Andy. I would just like the opportunity of trying their addys and levelling compounds. Not being able to get Adrex 7001 anymore is a real pain in the arris for me as I would use it all the time so some sort of alternative to that would be good.
I use Ultracolor plus grouts as well for floors, it is good stuff.

Weekends are the times when he should make most money mate, maybe he should open the weekends, take a quiet day off through the week, and the other quiet days,do a bit of tiling-if he's running it himself,it's going to be hard going......

The big guys can always afford to sell it cheaper Bri-that's just the way it's always been mate....the amount they buy in and turnover is astronomical-so any addy manfacturer turning down that volume of business would be crazy....
