Just about to tile my first kitchen floor 9m2, overlaid with 12mm wbp ply, well screwed down . Would I get away .with using SPF or is two part required, cheers

as long as floor is solid single part flex will be fine. just use a good quality addy not stuff from B+Q etc....

screw down every 250mm in a grid format and prime the ply with primer g.Use a flexible adhesive and flexible grout.



I was of the opinion it had to be 18mm ply to use SPF otherwise 2 part would be needed?

I refer to BAL's spec.........they only recommend you prime the back and edges of the ply and not the face side.......so i meant check what each manufacture recommend...some say prime some don't...........

This is correct if you wish for a guarantee. Dave also points out that back and sides have to be sealed with Bal Bond SBR prior to fixing down. These are recommended for our adhesives, some will differ regards priming surface, read instructions or ring manufacturer if in any doubt....Gaz
