Default Large grout gaps

I've just grouted 6sq m of hand made wall tiles with roughtly about 10mm grout gaps. Had an absolute nightmare with mapei's large gap grout, i found it too creamy and it was just slipping down the wall had to have it almost at a powder before i could keep it in the gaps.

Has any one else had this problem and what grout would you suggest i use next time?

Sorry you had problems - the large format grout (GG) is really designed for floors. Why didnt you give Ultracolor a go ? it does 2- 20 mm ??

thats exactly what it was Cliff. just couldn't get the consistency right to hold it in the gaps then it recommends 15-30 mins before you wipe off. The problem was i had to have it so dry to hold it in there i had abou 30 seconds before it went off!!!!!!!!!!
