Default Expansion joints around Swimming pool

Anyone know the correct spec for expansion in regards what material to use. Bearing in mind the pool promenades are is washed down each night . I am having to write a letter to a builder which needs to state that the wrong type has been used (normal sanitary sealant).
Thanks

Neale if the builder knows the wrong type has been used he should know what the right type is it depends on lots of factors but you would be best asking the adhesive manufacture that you use also the architect should be able to give you the spec but the builder may be getting you to do his work :Pete

Pete, i was asked to replace expansion joints to an existing pool but the guy provided 2 tubes of sanitary sealant to do the whole job ( 100 lin metres) . Really the job was nothing to do with me as i was only supposed to be grouting a few areas.
I have no idea who tiled it originally or what adhesives they used,,,all i know is there will be trouble in the future for the tiling.
