Post Holey Floor Grout

Hi guys , ive just started to grout the kitchen floor this morning (first one ive ever done) and i seem to be getting the odd hole in the grout .I made two batches up and the 1st seemed ok but the 2nd was slightly runnier in consistency and has holes in it. Is it because of the consistency that i am getting holes or something else. Does the direction in which you move the grout float have any bearing on this. I am using Mapei Ultracolour Plus (anthracite) and its very messy.

Any further advice on how to grout a floor would be appreciated.

sounds like you are creating air pockets 2 me mate

move the grout away from the joints and try not to push 2gether, once you go there the grout has nowhere to go, think of the edge of the tile and work away from there and work diagonally

consitency should be like whipped cream, works for me

Thanks for that info lads, ive got more to do this week and i'll make my mixture a bit thicker. It was more like single cream than whipped cream.
