![]() | After the great success of the 'which tile adhesive do you use?' thread I thought I'd start one off for grout too. BAL put our adhesive poll in a press release as they had such good results. We'll see how they stand on the grout front too though as there are some good competitors out there IMO. My personal preference is the Mapei grout, the range, price and quality (along with it's 2 - 20mm joints capability) means it sways my vote. Though as always I do trust the BAL gear. You can only pick one brand so pick your first choice if you have a few preferences. Edit:- The names don't get moved when I move vote counts so I'll explain any edits here. I've decreased the 'other' vote by one, and have increased the 'Nicobond' vote by one as MissTiler opted for Nicobond. I've decreased the 'other' vote by one, and have increased the 'Custom Building Products' vote by one as John Corley opted for Custom Building Products.

![]() ![]() ![]() | I really cant vote because i use one brand for walls and another for floor. Then if i am needing a flexible grout it may be another make and then it could depend if i needed a coloured grout. I may also need something chemical resistant etc.

![]() | A wide joint grout can be for walls or floors - so let's say it's a wide joint on a wall (you might call that a floor grout?). If you can't pick one don't worry. The rest of the gang will no doubt. ---- If it's the one you want to vote on I'll add it to the list.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Mapei , i dont get much call for this unless the client wants a specific colour. Bal, I use this for wall tiling for a variety of jobs. Weber, this is my 1st choice for white grout on walls Palace, only had to use it a few times Dunlop, This is one i avoid for everything Ardex, havent seen this about around here for a while so i forget what it was like but it used to be a good product. Ultra, only once as it was provided by client. Johnsons trade pro, never tried it Tile master, as above Larsen, Adhesive is good but dont use the grout that often PCI never tried, or cant remember Granfix, didnt like wall grout but floor grout seemed ok Other, Biscem for general floors Anyone ever grouted with Hot bitchemen.....oh those were the days.....not

![]() | I mainly use Nicabond grout (from N&C) which is really nice to use. BAL is fine. Not used any coloured grouts yet, but would go for Mapei. Have used Ardex but didnt like it.

![]() | Hi Cant remember which one, as it was bought for a site job. It was just white grout for plain white ceramic tiles. I couldnt get as smooth a finish with it as I could with other grouts I'd used, it seemed to go off pretty quick. I had to keep a careful eye out for gaps and unevenness etc.
