| Which Adhesive | | Hi
I am going to be tiling around bath area using 6"x3" ceramic tiles.. using a brick pattern.. 1 mtr high..
the problem is they have been having problems with water getting behind the original splash back ( i am going to be replacing ) this has caused it to come away from the wall.... the spalsh back is a coated board.. one you find fitted in kitchen areas !!! i know..... !!!
also they have a power shower fitted in the bath area , i am worried that this is the main problem of water getting behind the splash back .. and because i am only tiling to the same height.. i just wondered if the power shower would force water behind the tiles..??
any ideas on what adhesive , grout etc.. would be best to use in this situation.

| Re: Which Adhesive | | Deffo both waterproof for adhesive and grout.
As for the damage already done. I would imagine that you would need to makesure plaster board or whatever has been used is replaced as it may be damp. Also check that any timber stud work in the wall is not rotten.
I would say that the full wall around this shower should be tiled rather than just part.

| Re: Which Adhesive | | White star for me too, but I have to be honest, it sounds like you are not going to sleep very well at night if the area isn't correctly prepared and waterproofed. If water has already penetrated once because tiling isn't high enough, sure as shootin' it will happen again. It is your door they will be knocking very loudly on when the tiles fall off.
