Default Which tile adhesive for stone tiles?

Please can some experts out there advise me please?

We are about to tile our downstairs loo, I picked some nice 50 x 30 travertine stone tiles from Topps and they sold us some powder adhesive for £30. My cousin who is helping us thought this a bit steep and said we could get readymix stuff which would be much easier to use.

As these tiles are stone should we use the readymix stuff or the powder type, please advise as we've spent a lot on tiles, it would be a shame to ruin it all for the sake of the right adhesive.

Thanks in advance.

Ready mixed floor tile adhesive is laid with a 10mm trowel and should only be used on totally flat surfaces as its not dense enough to support packing tiles up to achieve a flat finish. Using it on natural stone is a no no firstly because the adhesive is polyma based and will mark your stone and secondly the stone is heavy and will sink to the floor levels.

A powder as the guys have said will do the job. Keep a damp sponge handy to wipe any adhesive off the tiles and if you havnt done it b4 it may be safer to use white adhesive rather than grey
