Default Grout pointing on floors?

Hi, Here's one. Do you guys point your grout on floors? If so, by how much?
Just finishing another one today and was levelling groutlines in prep to clean
off when the customer asked me to remember my grout lines as he could see
they weren't deep enough.
Surely if done too deeply they will just fill up with crap? How deep is deep
enough? Done as he asked but looks wrong to me, but he's happy and now
I'm confused !
Michael.

i finish grout level with tile....

1...stops build up crap in joints... as you said..

2.. protects tile edge from damage....

3.. looks a better finish....

4.. grouting flush can hide any irregularities in tile sizing etc...

hope this helps.............dave..

dh, I'm confused.
When you say you 'grout flush with tile', do you means that it is completely level with the tile surface? i.e not below the surface.
If so how do you acheive that?
I finish off with a wash boy, then 'tool' the grout line with a paint roller (without the handle) along the grout line, and it gives a 'U' shaped finish, and looks good.

I'd be intrested to know how you do it. Always willing to learn new techniques.
Cheers mate

leave grout to set for 15 mins or so then wash with washboy diagonlay across joints applying enough pressure to remove grout residue from tiles and not from the joints..leave to dry another half hour or so and then final wash same process...leaves nice flat floor.......dave..

I leave my grout line flush aswell, unlike Dave though i just go in big circles across the joints with my washboy.
