| Patchy Grout problems - HELP! | | Hi guys,
Finished grouting a room four days ago and it has dried patchy - very dark in places and almost white in others. From what I have read on here, this has happened to others with Granfix Ultimate Flex Grey grout.
I have read all the advice and I think I know WHY it went wrong...
However, my question is what can I do to sort it? Scraping out and regrouting is really not an option.
I tried cleaning and when wet, the whole floor looks mint. I thought about using something to keep it looking wet? Something that will penetrate rather than sitting on the surface. Any ideas or does this sound silly?
Any suggestions appreciated... | |

| Re: Patchy Grout problems - HELP! | | What do you think the cause of the problem is? If it's a common granfix problem i'd be on the dog 'n' bone to granfix technical giving them an ear full. | Dan |

| Re: Patchy Grout problems - HELP! | | Cheers guys, the chap at Granfix Tech support reckons it os probably efflourescence and should go away over time? He wouldn't commit as to whether others have had the same problem. | | |

| Re: Patchy Grout problems - HELP! | | Hi
I am having the same problem with patchy grout but with a flexible Bal grout. We had a tech guy come out who took a sample and sent it off to lab. Two weeks later we had a three page letter waffling on about microscopic tests and have been palmed off with efflourescence. We were recommended to use Aqaumix eff-ex to clean. Done three times not a thing has happened.
Gonna try this acid based one but dont hold much faith in it working either.

| Re: Patchy Grout problems - HELP! | | Whenever I've experienced patchy grout, it's been down to washing off too early and putting too much water on. I've always avoided by leaving it until it's nearly solid. | | |
