Default tile floors without adhesive and save £ £ £s

here are some pics of a 9sm floor i did today without using any adhesive the materials cost under £35 the ffl height was raised to meet an oak floor

knocked up the screed at 11am started fixing at 12.45pm driving home at 4pm

Did you tile that the same day gary..?...

What if curling happens to the screed...?.. just asking what measures you take stop delamination when tiling onto fresh screed......

the screed is bonded to the sub floor using cement slurry the substrate was dampened down then slurried semi dry mix of sharp sand and cement slurry bonding coat tiles tamped into the screed grout strong mix opc and building sand tiled hundreds of floors like this great way of fixing tiles

far frrom a dying art most apprentices working towards nvq level 3 must learn this as screeding and tiling is part of the level 3 nvq qualification if you want to work in the middle east usa and most of europe you will be expected to be able to do this

In this country it's a dying art. I did an nvq tiling, and was taught to screed and to fix into screed. In 10 years I've only screed a few floors myself.

Do you lay boards over the screed or spiked shoes when you lay the tiles so not to disturb the fresh screed or lay as you proceed
