Default Grouting where floor & wall tiles meet

If I have put floor tiles down in a small downstair toilet and I now plan to tile the walls [skirting board has been removed] then what is the procedure for the first row of tiles? Do they just sit directly on to the floor tiles or do I still have a gap at floor level and grout?Would I need to usr any sort of sealant a swell? Any replies will be much appreciated.

Have a small gap,use some wedges to do this. Don't grout always silicone the wall floor junction.

Your floor may not be level/square to the wall, always cut the tiles down to the floor. if you start with a full tile you may well find that when you get to the top of the wall the corners appear to run off at an angle.

By the way, welcome to the forums. Would you like to introduce yourself in the New Members forum and tell us a bit about your self. Loads of people will speak to you then.

I allways tile the walls first leaving the bottom row out then tile the floor
then cut the bottom row to suit the floor
in my experiance cutting wall tiles to meet the floor looks better than floor tiles meeting the wall if that makes sense also tiling the floor first it gets covered in crap which you then have to clean prior to grouting

If you tile walls or floor first it makes no difference, coz once it is sealed you can't see the joint....
