Question Universal Bonders vs Primers

..am i wrong in thinking that a Primer is just basically a watered down Bonding solution?

Anyways, have a plywood floor ready for UFH & slc, & plasterboard wall about ready for tiling.
Do i bond both first, or will primer suffice on the plywood, prior to the slc?

Also, as the plasterer has just finished doing the ceiling, there is a fair amount of plaster residue over the ply. Should i try & scrub as much of this off as possible or just go over it with the primer (or universal bonder)?

And finally, both the plywood & plasterboard have, at places, 1-2mm gaps between the sheets. Can i fill the plywood gaps with silicone & the plasterboard gaps with addi?

Don't treat a primer as a bonding agent, The floor should be scraped, cleaned, and then primed. Would,nt put silicone in the ply joints, I would put some plasterers scrim onto the joint and wipe some cement addy into it, Plasterboard joints, Scrim and use the addy your going to tile with and wipe onto the scrim

You should always follow manufacturers instructions as to priming.....seen as you have gypsum residue on the floor now then priming would be advised if using cement based adhesives.....
