| Which rapidset for floors? | | Hi all,
just started up and did a floor recently using topps own make rapidset.
Only problem i found with it was the amount of time it lasts in the bucket, i knew it was going to be quick but around 20-30 mins was all i got. Just wondered if there was any where you got longer to work with.
Cheers,
Nick | | |

| Re: Which rapidset for floors? | | You can get single part flexible adhesive which gives you longer, but when you use rapid set make sure you really clean your mixing bucket out every time you mix a new batch. |

| Re: Which rapidset for floors? | | To save wastage lay the field tiles first, then do the cuts, mix a new batch and lay all the cuts. Use 2 buckets as said above as Rapid set works on a chemical heat reaction, therefore if you either use the same bucket without cleaning out the next mix will have a head start and go off quicker. | | |

| Re: Which rapidset for floors? | | Agree with the above, Mapei last's age's in the bucket and holds the tiles in a very short time. | "Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes" |

| Re: Which rapidset for floors? | | Normally use Ardex X7 or S20, but had a limestone floor last week and the customer had ordered the addy with the tiles, and it was Mapei Keraquick, which as mentioned earlier lasts ages in the bucket which on that job was perfect. | | |

Also run the water till really cold.
Make sure your mixing buckets are spotless (The first batch always seems to last longer than your second batch )
Mix small amounts
If doing a conservatory in hot weather.............try and bung a dust sheet over the roof if poss...............keeps you and addy a bit cooler | | |
