Default I've had it with black grout !!!!

I've decided as from now I will do no more jobs that involve the dreaded black grout ever again. Just used it for the second time & forgot how much I hated it.

I have spent ALL DAY grouting a kitchen splashback, as the cleaning up has taken hours & hours. A job that should have taken a couple of hours has taken me about 7 FFS

It just needs too much time spending on it trying to get everything clean. Everytime I touched something it was black again. It's evil stuff.
So if anyones asks for it in the future I shall give it a swerve thanks very much.

I have only used it a few times before, and as you say its a bitch of a job. I won't use it now unless customer insists on it and i always try to recommend a different colour. its just too much hassle

ROFL!

Been there, done that and still got the black finger nails.
One customer wanted chocolate grout in their shower - it took me over half a day to grout and wash off, with the customer offering to do the final clean!

Always charge more or better still (as you suggest), give it the swerve. I've got dust sheets that seem to be permanantly stained now.

Black grout is slightly more fiddly than lighter coloured grout, I agree, but not that much more fiddly imho. Just change water, and clean your washboy, sponges and floats a bit more often, and it'll be alot easier.

Used balck once and chocolate once. Personally didn't have much problem with cleanliness (both floors). Was Mapei ultracolor plus so don't know if that made a difference?

I grouted a full bathroom in black grout recently. Put down a load of waterproof plastic sheeting, looked like I was arranging a mafia contract killing, but the stuff still got everywhere. Took me a full day to grout the bathroom, floor to ceiling.
Threw away my float and sponge afterwards. Two weeks later got a job for porch with black grout, had to buy another float and sponge.
