| Re: I've had it with black grout !!!! | | As soon as it gets onto anything but the tiles, drench it with a damper spong (clean sponge with hot water) then clean off with a wipe - kitchen roll works well :P. I'd recommend masking off the surroundings with old newspaper and masking tape though, coz it likes to separate itself onto all sufraces including your bucket of water.
I've seen me picking up what i thought was a clean bucket (perhaps used for grouting in black or charcoal grout) and theres thin layers of black grout scum stuck to the inside which is hard to see when you use a black bucket for black grout. A nice yellow bucket will give you a clue of how much the water is dirty. So just keep up with the dreaded stuff, thats what I suggest and I think i;ve just clarified my own problems with it too , | | |

| Re: I've had it with black grout !!!! | | Can anybody tell me of a way to clean off some stains on light coloured floor tiling caused by black grout residue getting on them? I've tried scrubbing with some standard cleaner and it doesn't work too well.

It just needs too much time spending on it trying to get everything clean. Everytime I touched something it was black again. It's evil stuff.
So if anyones asks for it in the future I shall give it a swerve thanks very much. | You may just need more practice with the darker coloured grouts? I know black grout can be a pain, it's not my favourite colour either, but you can't let something as simple as a grout defeat you otherwise your heart will not be in it. Tiling is all about asthetics and if black grout looks good then this is what will need to be used.
Try looking at your technique when grouting use long sweeping motions and keep the sponge in cotact with the work surface at all times, Don't stop and start, try some of the tips others have suggested to make a quiker job of it experiment a bit and improve your technique and black will just become another colour, no big deal it happens. |

| Re: I've had it with black grout !!!! | | hello
have had black grout problems..Everything got stained then used too much acid to clean up..Yep you guessed it, all grout turned white. Oh yea it also washed into the clients swimming pool.... Only use mapei ultracolour black now, its rapid drying. So the misery only lasts a little bit of time.
good luck with the 400mts
