Got a job coming up tiling a wetroom. Small wetroom tucked in the corner of a downstairs WC. Walls are block and have Aquapanel dabbed and screwed. Base is concrete with waste in the middle with okay falls (like a shallow bowl) and will be mosaics to make things easier. There's also a single brick row to act as a kerb and will have a sliding shower door.
Want to ask your opinion on the best tanking system you guys would use in this scenario. Don't do enough wetrooms to offer the best advice - thanks
I normally use Mapei Aquadefence, very easy to apply & work with, just paint it on & tape the internal corners.
Paint the full base also & you shouldn't be far wrong.
If tank the lot with your preference of tanking paint type affair (BAL WP1 or whatever). But wait for the pros to have their say.
Yeah definitely want to tank the base too. Wondered if membrane would be better but paint on stuff would be much easier with the floor being bowl shaped. Will probably go with Weber tanking kit.

Ardex kit is the best of the lot as its a 2 part but a bit more of a monkey around to use.
I've been using "bal tank it" good stuff at a reasonable price...(for bal)..
I've never tried Mapelistic but if the above members recommend it then it's good enough for me, but I have used ARDEX and Bal's tank it. Any of these would be ideal for what your intending.

It's like heavy duty ardex wpc.
Can be used externally on balconies and areas of limited movement.
I know there's no movement in this instance,
but it'd certainly give anyone confidence in their install.
