Depends on the tile for me also, normally 2mm on walls and 3mm on floor with the exception of planks, then I always use 2mm. A grout joint is also a form of expansion joint, bear that in mind.

I remember a time on a hospital job a cow gathering us round and warning us that if he could get a spiders leg in between our work he'd scrap it lol, how we've moved on!!

Those CoW knew their stuff though.............. I wish we still had them, CoW had great training and abilty to keep a job on progress.
