Hi and welcome to the forum Craig!

Homelux membrane kit?
They do actually sell pre made collars for things like that.
It's just a softer material.
If u've bought the banding to seal joints u can just make some from that, or use left over membrane.

Hi 3_fall
thank you for the quick reply there is 3 silver screw on parts for the control knobs should I fit them and cut the membrane round them and use silicone to seal the membrane to them? I say kit I bought the membrane for floor walls some corners and the joint tape :)

No, no need to go that far, u generally rely on cover plate to fully protect the diverter.
Just take membrane up to the controls.
Basically just cut holes in membrane so the controls poke thro!

OK cool but doesn't that make tanking pointless if you get a tile leaking above the shower mixer it will run behind the plaster board? Or am I just being anal anyways thank for all your help I'm sure I will have more questions :)

Often the shower mixer body needs to remain accessible (by just removing the front cover plate) so that filters in the body can be cleaned/replaced and so in these cases you can't really tank tight up to the "tap/control" bits (I don't know if this is the case with the one you have fitted). In practice very little water is going to be hitting the wall above the shower mixer so providing the grouting is good quality and the cover plate fits well I don't think you will have a problem.
Personally I'd be more worried about leaks from pipes behind the plasterboard!:umbrellarain:

Simply ask yourself: 'can i use the shower safely without tiles?' if you can, then you're good to go...
