Hi

Does anyone on here have experience of fitting these type of tiles. I'm quoting for a job for October time which involves these tiles. Its a bathroom that's going to be tiled half height. tiles will be below window and bath is freestanding so they will not really be in the wet area. I'm wondering what adhesive and grout will be suitable for these? The back of the tile is exactly the same as a mirror. Any other tips greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Walls must be perfect, you don't want to be packing them out at all, use a two part or adhesive won't adhere to tiles, last one I did used Webber set plus and ad250 also skim back of tiles or have also fixed a splashbacks with tubes of mirror adhesive.

hi andy

Thats great cheers. hacking walls back to brick and dry-lining so that will be fine. what grout do you recommend? its going to be light grey but want something fine. I normally use tilemaster grout 3000 but worried that may be a little coarse.

Most manufacturers advise loads of different products.

The mirrors i'm familiar with have to be fitted and grouted with epoxy. Other adhesives we tried were bal spf and white star. Both had a weird chemical reaction and turned the mirrors black in a day. Tried kerapoxy and it was fine.

So as long as you go with the suppliers or manufacturers recommendations, it'll be fine.

Also moisture might affect some mirror tiles. Condensation still needs to be considered around a bath.

Good luck and hope it goes well. Hope i've not put you off :)

Mapei also do an SF -super fine grout. I did some mirrored mosaics and tested the FF on an off cut - good job I did as even that scratched them. SF was fine though.
