hi guys, i need to silcone around my bathtub, its been recently tiled and ive noticed the gap is quite large in a few places. It sits back slightly from the lip so the full gap is around 6mm in a few spots, and 4-5mm in the rest.

If you put a spacer flat on the bath and push under the tile its about flush to 3mm but diagonally as they sit back furthur its more.

Will this be ok to fill with silcone, not sure the max joint width silcone should not exceed? cheers:D

Hi not sure what colour your tiles are? By matching the tile colour with the sealant the gap will less noticeable (use a good quality sanitary sealant like Mapei or BAL). The only problem is that you have to be really neat where the sealant meets the bath.
I would make sure the gap is completely dry and free from adhesive/grout. Add sealant, then spray with water with a little washing up liquid added. Then use a finishing tool and multi wipes to get a tidy seal.
