I watched a video not long after posting that trying to find out, and I was very impressed with their ram-air-cooled charging station! Made me think of my car tinkering days. ha

Festool do make great stuff, some of it is best available and warrants the price tag, some of there stuff is just as good or bad as any other top brand, but gets a huge price hike because of the name. I have a plunge saw from them, cost more than anything else, but that's because it is better, there jigsaws are the same, but the drills and planers really don't do anymore any better in my honest opinion

I've seen some interesting US reviews of Festool kit, where they strip them down and examine the internals.
Leads to me believe you're better off buying the top model of Makita / Dewalt etc than Festool.

Main selling point of planer I believe is it can do limitless rebate
