Discuss Foam for fixing cement boards in the Adhesive and Grout Forum area at TilersForums.co.uk.
Had heard about this, supposed to replace adhesive AND mechanical fixing?
I've heard Hardi raving about it on social media!
I got the hard sell the other day at a CTD promotion, I was offered more Hardie FOC if I bought the foam.
I said I wasn't convinced, then the Hardie guy just switched off and walked away!!
Andy Carroll says its good. So it must be good.
This month at least...
(it'll be something else next month...)
Does it still need the screws? What about filling voids etc on substrate?
He will be on the pay role!
According to what Ive been told no screws
Hope that's note a full 1200x800 board or else how big is that can of foam!!!
I'd like to see or hear how they suggest doing that, is it like mega strength nmp stuff ?
I think I would still be screwing
I think I'll stick to using better products than cement board!
Green plasterboard and 6mm ply?
You guessed it! With PVA and ring shanks.
I like Hardie board... never let me down!
Don't you ever cement board a floor ?
You still use screws with NMP and megastrength adhesive, I would defo use screws, and would only use foam adhesive on completely flat floors (If I ever use it)
Yeah I known but that foams a bit and expands and sticks like thas never known
You give yourself he best answer! Wtf! Haha
How did I manage that?
You obviously pressed best answer on your own post haha
