| Quote for tanking shower cubical help ! | | Hi
Went round the this mans house today and he has a shower cubical area, bout 6 sm. seems like there is plasterboard under the tiles.
I said i will put that wetroom membrame on then tile on top of tiles. Is this correct or should i ripp it all out and start again.
Also he wanted me to tile on top of tiles in kitchen but is this wise as the tiles will come out to much fro the wall. shall i take the old tiles off and start again or tile on the tiles and put a fatter trim on.
Also he was very fussy what he wanted and what he expected from me, asked loads of question like he wants verbal contract a written contract of what need doin before i start and a written contrat of what been done with the end product. All went over my head, i just give em a quote, if they like i get stuck in and get paid at te end, give em a recipt at the end. am sure this guy is a taxman or something. Also asked me about trade insurance, gurantees and if im with trading standards.
Bloody nightmare
might give this job a miss as i think there will be a lot of hassle

| Re: Quote for tanking shower cubical help ! | | Tys, I would be very wary of this customer, he could be the type to be looking for an excuse not to pay and get a free job...I personally wouldn't take it on..Mark. | Plastering & Tiling Solutions. |

Just use it for quote experience and send him a quote with date for around six months time, that way he'll go and pester someone else.
Remember to check your customers out with little questions, the last thing you need is a complete dick who doesn't want to play because he or her has watched 'house doctor' too many times.
Cheers,

| Re: Quote for tanking shower cubical help ! | | just tell him straight.
This is the job you'll do and this is how much it will cost, if he wants it in writing then ok give him it, but keep control over the customer, otherwise it'll go tits up.
Treat him like you would one of your m8's down the pub, straight and simple, he might just be trying to sound you out.
If he still seems dodgy then do not do it .
