What type of grout and adhesive should be used for a tiled floor in a shower wet room.

Also what type of tiles should be used, are non-slip tiles much more expensive that glazed ones.

I am going to tank the room before tiling.

Cement based grout. You can get anti-slip tiles that are glazed too you know. I'd checkout what's in your local tile store and see what you can find. You'll get something that's cheap enough yet safe and looks nice.

I've had a look so far in Homebase and B&Q - they don't seem to have any non-slip tiles but do have unglazed ones but I'm concerned about those as I've read that unglazed tiles are porous

Most of the pre-prepared tubs of grout / adhesive have "not suitable for continous immersion" on the back.

find a local tile shop as opposed to b&q or homebase, the staff will be far more knowledgeable and helpful, as for all in one grout and adhesive or tubbed grout, forget it, you can use tubbed adhesive but use powdered grout. Ask for one that is water resistant..Mark.

How big is your floor area m8 what did you have in mind for the wetroom. If you can give me an idea I could possibly help.

Yep, try a tile shop instead of B&Q or HB. Tile shops sell tiles all the time and know (or should know) all their applications, adhesives and grouts to be used etc.
Our local tile shop has anti slip mosaic floor tiles, installed them recently and turned into a nice job. 1 ft sq Sheets where £5 each

We just shoved down standard porcelain tiles. They had a bit of grain in them so I didnt even think to ask about non slip.

Finished off with ivory grout. Only problem (nit pick) is that the grout has gone dirty grey on the floor tiles so looks grubby.

In hindsight I shouldve picked grey grout

I did eventually find a shop that knew a bit more about what they were selling and go my hands on some powdered, water resistant adhesive and some grout as well.

I also did manage to find some anti-slip tiles for the floor - there seems to be a pretty poor selection of these but the ones I found should be ok.

I've completed the tanking on the wet room - so this weekend I've going to start tiling the walls.

I found some tiles with a rough surface but I was worried them being slippery when wet - I did eventually some tiles with a more rough, none slip surface. So hopefully they'll do the job.

The wetroom is a just over 3m long and just about 1m 10cm wide. I did eventually find a shop who knew what they were talking about...I'm find that the hardest part is finding the right people to talk to...once you do that finding the right materials is easy.

I do have one problem to solve now though...the shower drain in the concrete floor is fairly deeply set and I wanted to cover it with a grating of some sort...most I've seen for sale are very expensive...very nice though and I wish my budget strethced that far...but I'm looking for a cheap-ish square grating 150mm that will cover the shower drain in the floor.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure really without looking at it you could try Hepworths or someone like Dalmer they may have something to suit your needs. I did offer to lend a hand earlier m8 now we are too far down the road and both stuck for a solution, these things cant just be thrown together they need a degree of planning. Maybe next time.
