Default Wetroom and tanking system for novices

Hi Everyone,

Never done a wetroom in my life and to be honest my plumbing knowledge is zero although i`m thinking of trying to learn at least the basics.

My question is what in your opinion would be the easiest system to use given the lack of experience?

Also if there are any of you pros with wetroom jobs coming up anywhere in the south east and you wouldn`t mind me tagging along to labour and learn i`d love the opportunity.I`m willing to travel a fair way for a decent learning experience.

Cheers

Turkish

I am also just doing my first wetroom. Just fitted the Impey tile safe system, went really well but I think that it is a bit pricey. Also got good technical back up from Impey.

Thats the problem m8 thats part the reason we set up wetdecs people were charging what they liked for tanking systems / bases and taking the p*** a bit

We can do 100x100 shower tray former tanked and finished (5m2 floor wood or concrete) delivered for 365 quid and its German top draw gear we are not here to rip people off.

People just have to ask me

Its a question of preference at the end of the day If you used Kerdi matting or Durabase WP it would make no difference they are both German high tech membranes that do the same job, feel the same, applied the same.

In fact the only difference for the installer is they are different colours.

You will find the orange one is a little more expensive but as I said its preference at the end of the day

PS we have the Ditra mat equivelent also its called Durabase CI mat.
