see thats it, alot of tanking systems have that fibreglass kit with it, PCI has rubber matting that cannot be penetrated, not only does it have the rubber matting BUT it has 2 4x4inch square rubber mats with circles cut into it that you stretch around the pipes for the hot cold shower taps for a tight seal, you dont get that with WP1, the rubber paste you paint on the wall with wp1 is too thick and bumpy, the PCI in contrast is like painting walls with normal paint, it is fool proof.
I would prefer to have rubber matting going along my joints than a fibreglass matting

I primarily use a system from Ardex called "Tricom". I don't think it's availible in the UK.

Here'e a link to a PDF about it. It's in swedish, but you can still look at the pictures.

Essentially, it's a water and vapor proof membrane which you apply with either a ready mixed wpc (for absorbant substrates), or a two component wpc (for non-absorbant substrates, or when you're in a hurry). Fairly fast to apply, and it's tileable after two to six hours, depending on which WPC was used.

The two component WPC can be used without the membrane in situations where there is rising damp, ie old cellars, as well.

it doesn't really matter about the price the customer foots the bill anyway, so as long as its good and does the job and the customer is happy we are all happy
