ufh on wet room floor?
do you guys recommend running the ufh onto the wet room floor? i don't plan on doing it but just wondered what your thoughts are. at the moment the tray is flush with the cement boards but with the ufh and slc on the main floor and 3mm difference between floor tiles and wetroom mosaics there looks like there'll be a step of 8mm or so going into the tray. i guess i'll just have to 'form' the tray using spf? i'll do it in 2 coats. any other suggestions? i don't know what make tray it is, this job's for homebase and their plumber fitted it, it's blue, looks plastic and is screwed straight through into the floor. cheers

Hi Mike... I was in the same predicament as you. I had a step and was going to put UFH on to the tray...
decided against it and feathered the edges (not the whole tray)

yeah i'll prob doing the same dave but i want to get the tray right before i try lay the mosaics. did your mosaics work out okay on the tray without 'enveloping' ? as the mosaics look the same size as mine, 40mm or so

Re: ufh on wet room floor?
The ufh can be run into the shower area (if it is recommended by the manufacture some are not) just make sure that a waterproof membrane is applied over the top of the slc or adh you use to cover the wires .to keep moisture away from the ufh

Re: ufh on wet room floor?
If it's screwed into the floor what about water ? are you saying it's screwed through the former ?

Re: ufh on wet room floor?
The way i got round this was to step back the main tiles from the edge of the tray and build up with some rapid adhesive so there was no lip between the two different tiles, if you see what I mean..or have I got the wrong end of the stick..

i think i know what you mean but i'll be increasing the size of the shower area then slightly, but i can't see that being a problem

Re: ufh on wet room floor?
thanks stewart, good thinking that about the floor drying quicker. i'll have a measure up tomorrow to see if the warmup 600 kit is big enough for the tray too. there's a 400 cable with it but there's no way i could lose all of it in the room. cheers

Re: ufh on wet room floor?
You could install a aluminium bar (one that you use were carpet meets tiles l shaped) we install them as a water stop bar (stops water traveling along grout joints) use that between the two different tiles ,it will give you a little play in height
