Re: right adhesive for membrane
Hi pippa, whether to use rapid or standard set is really down to how quick you are at working, if your new to tiling ( as I'm assuming ) then go for a standard set, especially this weather, and yes, fix the membrane down and let the adhesive set, whether it's rapid or standard.
Hope that helps.

Re: right adhesive for membrane
I haven't used Dural Wp but Schluter Kerdi is similar and you don't need to wait for the adhesive attaching the membrane to dry, you can tile straight away.....

Re: right adhesive for membrane
With Dural, if you need to fix tiles straight away, you should should use some ply crawling boards to spread the weight. Otherwise you will leave indentations on the mat from your feet.

I always use rapid set flexible as I find it grips the membrane better than standard set.

Re: right adhesive for membrane
Let the adhesive set, if you have to adjust a tile then when you pull it off the membrane will come with it .. so yes let it set..
It is like wall papering and use a mosaic trowel to apply the adhesive and usr the flat side of the trowel to smooth the membrane.. just like papering..
remember to keep the adhesive fairly wet but not sloppy..
