alternative to wet area membrane
Our local council has discovered that our showers were installed without any wet area membrane. They are tiled onto vilaboard which is on aqualine gyb board on timber planks. There are 5 showers and they are very large and we do not want to rip out all the tiles. Is there any way we can make the shower area impervious to water from on top of the tiles as it would be a huge job to take them all out and start again?

In what environment are these showers installed and are they wet floors or trays?

Could you not use a grout sealant

I guess you could re-grout with epoxy.....
