    Default Tanking Adhesive Advice

    Hi everyone,

    Just a quick question with regards to tanking (Kerdi or Durabase) and tile adhesive. I know I need to use a flexible tile adhesive (powder form), but am not sure exactly what type.

    I've been searching the forums for similar topics but havent found anything relating to this

    Please help!!

    for peace of mind go to a Tile Giant and get a Mapei SPF addy such as keraflex, depending a what tanking system your using.

    Is this for sticking the membrane to the substrate or tiling onto it..?

    Thanks for the advice so far... sorry i should have been more specific...

    Yes its for sticking the membrane (Durabase WP) to the substrate (unplastered plasterboard). Also can i stick the membrane directly on plywood and assuming i can should i be sealing it?

    depends on the ply really. I would use Keraquick and seal the ply

    Thanks for the update Sean.

    Should I just seal the ply the standard way with diluted PVA? Will this affect the load bearing element?

    Never use PVA.
