Sloping Ceiling - how to protect from water/steam?
Hi
A neighbour of mine has had a new bathroom fitted & tiled (not by me
) & is worried about water/steam damaging his sloping ceiling opposite the shower head. The bathroom is in the attic of a cottage, it's a power shower over a bath & the sloping ceiling at the head of the bath is beamed so not possible to tile without it looking stupid.
The ceiling is just painted with I assume emulsion at the moment, what would you recommend to protect this from water splashes & steam?
BAL tanking seems a little extreme for what is basically 1 sq metre, so ifs there something else or just a paint I could use?
thanks

Has the room got an extractor fan fitted? I would suggest one if not.

Re: Sloping Ceiling - how to protect from water/steam?
Thanks, that paint should do the trick I think.
Room has a window & an extractor fan yes.
Haven't got any pics, but yes the lower beam which is onto about a 18" above the head of the bath does get wet also. I assume this can be treated with an outdoors sleeper type of coating?
