airbubbles/lumps under durabase wp
i just tanked around my shower former with durabase wp. i used 10kg of mapei keraquick mixed with 3kg of mapei latex plus (and no water), i started off well with the flexi strip but when i came to lay the wp mat over the shower former the adhesive had dried out alot. the end result was slightly lumpy and patchy adhesive under the mat with a few air bubbles around the edge....i'm super naffed off because i've done everything right up til now. just wondering what the future implications could be to this??

Re: airbubbles/lumps under durabase wp
did you run the flat side of your trowel or a good straight edge over it once laid?

Re: airbubbles/lumps under durabase wp
yes i did, alot. the airbubbles are only round the edge and theres only a few. the membrane is very well stuck down its just that its not as flat as i would've hoped for due to the dryish lumpy consistency of the addy. will make it thinner next time when i do the walls.

Re: airbubbles/lumps under durabase wp
should i be mixing the keraquick with latex plus and water or just the latex?

Re: airbubbles/lumps under durabase wp
ok i've just looked at wetdecs youtube tanking video again and it looks like i need to make the adhesive up alot thinner so it goes on easier and i have to mix up less at a time because it sets too quick.
