Looking for a shower screen (wetroom) but at a custom size.
Anyone any ideas? Also would need fixings.

We sometimes use a glass supplier to do custom screens.. cut to any size and then use the glass bracket fittings..

What size is custom James ?

They are expensive! Do an internet search and you will find one local. Is there nothing on the market that will fit or is it for an angled ceiling or something?

Srt Wetdecs been offline for a while. Custom really means narrow - normal height but maybe 55cm to 60 cm max

is this because half of the shower is inset in to an alcove?

Also where abouts are you in the country?

yes, quite a build with and alcove and essentially I don't need / can't afford the usual standard width screens but require something narrower. I guess getting 8mm glass cut is straight forward enough but not sure where I could buy the fixings.

You would have to get the glass toughened as well as that is compulsory. 6mm is allowed but depends on the application, id stik with the 8mm

You may be able to get a company to make the profiles and fixings but i dont think they will be cheap.

I have a brand new (still in unopened original packaging) shower door that we couldn't use in our ensuite, from a P shaped shower bath, if you can get someone to cut it down to the width you require the slight round could look really good? All fixings included... might be an idea?

Strummerman installed our bathroom, he can vouch for it. Let me know if you're interested?

Darryl Showers will make a custom screen - send the drawings to them - you will probably have to route it through a retailer in you area and they will make any shape / size etc - You will be expected to pay a premium rate - certainly not cheap. You could go to the local qual glass co and get them to make it (We use our local co for these specials) although it you want glass brackets too this could work out the same sort of cost as Darryl

Well as usual a lot of ideas to follow. Thanks for the advice all. Will look into darryl Showers and if there are any other ideas then keep them coming.

What are the dimensions you would like and thickness?

A local glass firm should be able to do any size you want mate, and should also drill it for the fixings. If they dont sell hinges, which I would find suprising, then a quick google search for shower screen hinges threw up a few places, such as Spider Fittings | Glass Fittings | Shower Fittings | Glass Clips | Balustrades Clamps - The Glass Hardware Specialist though you should have a good luck round before buying, that is just one example of places that sell them, not somewhere i've ever bought from or can vouch for.

You could also try posting on our plumbing forum Plumbing Forum | Plumbing Advice | Plumbers Forums | A forum for plumbers advice in the UK im sure your not the first to have encountered this problem.

I am not at the stage where I need a screen yet so I have not seen the product
They may suit you also as they advertise widths from 200mm in 100mm increments. They also seem to have plenty of fixing options and say they'll do custom at no extra?
(I was looking because I will probably need a corner clipped off due a sloping ceiling).

Thats just the ticket. I've stored their details on my computer so that when we are doing a special or standard in the future we might give them a try. - I note that they have a standard glass coating system for protection - ie Limescale etc - There are a few on the market and I would never use a standard glass panel that has not be coated on the inside at least.
