Default Should I prime Green Plasterboard before tanking?

My first post on this forum so please excuse a newbie question.

I have fitted green water resistant plasterboard to my bathroom walls. For the shower area, do I need to prime the the plasterboard before applying tanking (BAL WP1 kit), or is it fine to tank directly?

The instruction make no mention of "green" plasterboard. A friend says it is fine to tank directly but I would like to make sure before proceeding. Thanks.

I would prob prime it but I dont use BAL. If your really worried about it then give BAL a ring. the number will be on the pack and they will tell you what they recommend.

Ring Bal tech dept, most tanking kits have primers.

It might just take longer for the primer to dry.. but tanking kits do recommend it... another alternative is to use a tanking membrane.. much quicker to use and install..
