George
The wetrooms finished and the lady now wants me to install the glass shower door 10mm thick. Its just arrived with the cut outs made with two hinges and looks pretty straight forward but I have not done the glass bit before. What's not clear to me is how tight I do up the hinges on the glass. The hinges have gaskets to sit between the glass and the hinge and there are two screws with alan key heads to clamp down on the glass. Its going to have to be done tight to stop it slipping but can I overtighten and break the glass?....Given its 10mm its going to be pretty strong so I suspect I cant overtighten?

Re: George
as above, take care or it could suddenly shatter, tight enough to hold it but do not overtighten, as Jay says contact tech dept of the manufacturer for advice

Re: George
George - Once you undertake to install you are responsible for the breakages. This is not a £10 fitting fee/ favour IMO.

Re: George
It will have pre drilled holes in the glass for the locating pins on the hinge, these take the weight of the door and so you only have to nip them up, make sure the wall hinges are secure and try to have someone with you to hold the door whilst you secure it. Its easy to do.

Re: George
The grub screw usually tightens up against the gasket and not the glass.
There will be full instructions in the box... or should be..
..as mentioned if in doubt phone the tech line.
