Bridging gap from wall to bath in the

Hi.
I've just fitted my shower-bath in place, using a large bead of mastic around the edge to help fix it against the walls.

Fill the gap with silicone so that its flush with the bath, bring the tape over this when its dry.

only a suggestion but it might be beneficial to recess bath into wall would make a stronger job

Hi, thanks for the advice.
Am I right in thinking that the new bead of silicon wont stick to the existing?
Will that be a problem or doesn't it matter as its only so the waterproofing tape has something to support it ?

hi the mastic used behind waterproofing tape is a bondbreaker to prevent the tape from sticking to both surfaces at one tight point (allows tape to flex)so no it doesn't have to stick 100% hope this helps
