    Talking Advice please

Hi everyone I am a very capable but non professional DIY'er. I am soon to embark on something new though and would appreciate some advice on the matter before I decide on the best way to proceed. I have a small en suite which is going to be stripped down to bare walls and floor and my intention is to install a level entry tiled hidden tray, obviously I am going to tank the walls and floor accordingly but this is my dilema. I keep looking at the Linear style drainage systems which just appear more stylish and certainly seem easier to tile. The problem is that the most pratical one i have found is the Novellini Wet Dec which is very expensive, however this comes complete with pre formed slope and drain so installation seems simple enough. My concern is that this item does not have a clamping frame for the membrane and only appears suitable for TILESAFE which i do not want to use as this seems overpriced and I do not see it as the best option for the floor ( was looking at Schluter Kerdi or Durabase CI and Wp for floor and walls).
Has anyone succesfully used an alternative membrane on the above wet dec and if so how was it dressed into the drain, if not would it be possible to use durabase CI on the floor but fashion a dressing mat out of an off cut of TILESAFE? Looking for any ideas or help.
I am waiting for my fractured hand to heal so have plenty of time to research. Cheers Nolly.
