tanking help
hi, i have been asked to tile a bathroom in slate,Picture 004.jpg
Picture 005.jpg
Picture 001.jpg not sure if it needs tanking what needs tanking or if slate will be to heavy (300x300x10mm).i think i need plaster board and tanking on shower wall and external wall but there is a window close to where the shower will be aswell, do i need to do anything extra with this? also on external wall do i need to take plaster skim/render off and fix plaster board to block wall?? she has a new bath to go in do i need that in before i tank? sorry if this is confusing, im confused! hope picture helps

Re: tanking help
I would use aqua panels instead of plasterboard, then you dont need to tank. Your tiles are very heavy and maybe near the limit for plasterboard.
Get the bath fitted before any tiling starts.

Re: tanking help
Any walls that will come into contact with water should be tanked for peace of mind. You could make a window ledge from aqua panels, its more expensive than plasterboard but far superior.
