Wetroom advice
Hi all,
After a bit of help please. Been to see an urgent wetroom quote today as the original tiler has now pulled out of the job. 10mm marmox boards already laid on 22mm chipboard floor with adhesive and screws as normal with loose wire UFH laid over top and fibre glass type wet room tray installed in corner of the room. the UFH now sits about 3mm over the height of the edges of the tray. I want to apply SLC over the wires then tank the area then tile. the problem is my SLC will end up slightly higher (4-5mm) than the tray. how best would i stop the SLC entering the tray as i obviously cant batten and screw into the tray as i will do in the doorway? I've only been tiling about 18 months now and regularly tank areas and have done wetrooms before with no problems but only when I have been in control of the whole process. I would have got the tray installed higher to allow for this but obviously all this was out of my handsas I didnt see the job until now. Can somebody solve my headache? Hope this isnt a stupid question!!
Thanks

Re: Wetroom advice
Hi Gareth... it's very simple, just cut your battons to length then silicon them onto the former tray and let it set..then you can SLC to your hearts content and when it's dry, just prise off the battons, scrape off any residual silicon and carry on...

Re: Wetroom advice
Take up the marmox it has no real function, and start again that way you can work your own method and know its right............
