Default Tanking

Hi Guys

Just wondering how much extra you would charge for tanking a double shower area (including materials). Also how long should I leave for doing this - including drying time?

Thanks

What tanking system are you going to use? BAL's WP1 or something else? (most of the manufacturers do a tanking system now).

Hi Dan

Been looking at the Bal one. Just starting out and all my work to date has been floor tiling and kitchen splashbacks - never done a full bathroom before and want to make sure that I price it right.

I always use Bal WP1. Good product. Kapitan was spot-on with £150

i would charge £50 labour plus about £45 for tanking kit just go round the evening before your gonna start the job only takes an hour to apply just get 1 of their tiles place against the wall round the tray and mark the tray ,mask along the line then paint on area apply tapes wearing rubber gloves then paint again ,you should get a couple of showers at least from kit

Have a look at the Ardex WPC system. Can be tiled after 3 hrs, and no tapes or such-like to worry about. Expensive though.

I think the tile is to mark on the tray where to put some masking tape for tile thickness not to mark the height of the tanking
