| shower, with plasterboard | | Hello, new poster here
I am refitting our ensuite. The shower is in an alcove and the 3 sides are all plasterboard. Do I need to/should I tank it before fitting the shower tray and tiling? The room is on first floor with chipboard floor boards.
If I should tank, is BAL wp1 the stuff to go for and is is easy to use for a diyer?
Many thanks for any help | | |

| Re: shower, with plasterboard | | As easy as your'll get anywhere just make sure you have a good read of the instruction. Before you put tape between the tray and wall, Put your tile against the wall and tray use a pensil to the tile move tile with the pensil marking the tray, do it on all 3 walls. Masking tape on pensil line then fit your tape with wp1, when gone off remove masking tape, Saves you getting all on the tray | "Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes" |

| Re: shower, with plasterboard | | Hi
Ye you need to tank all 3 walls to the ceiling as its an alcove its a moisture trap. Be cheaper for you and a better job if you use an off the roll membrane like Dura-wp and tile over that. You will of course benefit from a fan in the ceiling as well. tiler
